Saxophonist Jake McMurchie’s Bristol-based quartet put in a superb performance on Friday night at The Be-Bop Club, which hosts regular live jazz each week at The Bear on Hotwell Road. Jake was accompanied by James Chadwick on guitar, Dave Goodier on bass, and Andy Hague on drums. Most of the numbers they played were originals, and very fine they were too. A good crowd turned out to hear them.
Jake also plays with The Blessing, who’ve now been signed to Candid Records.
Jake’s gigs are well worth checking out, and The Be-Bop Club is a local venture that deserves the support of all us jazz-loving Bristolians!
